1/9/07  Bob and Tom Show appearance

I just wanted everyone to know that I will be appearing on Bob Zany's Fix the joke segment on the Bob and Tom Show.  I'm scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16th, and they told me that it would air between  9:15 and 9:30 am.  You can hear the Bob and Tom show every weekday morning from 6-10am on 99.3 here in the Tri-Cities.

I just got through sending out the last two sets of dvd's that I had, but I'm working on finding a new company to master them for me, so hopefully I'll have some more in the near future.

Special Taping of the Robby Spencer Show

On Monday, August 7th, Teddy Helton and I  will be putting on a special concert at the Renaissance Center in Kingsport.  The show will be taped for later broadcast on television.  There will be a $5 per person admission at the door, and all the proceeds go to help finance future episodes of the Adventure Show.  Children 12 and under will be admitted free, and if you can't honestly afford the $5 admission, don't be ashamed to come out anyway.  I don't want anyone to miss out if they can't afford the admisson price.  Come be a part of the live audience.  There will be plenty of music, singing, comedy, and even a special portion of the show where you can ask me questions, and maybe they will end up as part of the televised show.  I will have my cd's available for sale that night, and hopefully dvd's too, if I have any in stock.  (I'm having trouble keeping up with the demand for them.)  I will also have free pictures available if you want me to autograph one for you.  The doors will open at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7pm.  Come on out that night and drag your friends with you, I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm a little behind in answering my emails.  I've been having to stay some with my Papaw right now since he's not doing very good.  I don't have computer access at his house, so the only time I get to check my emails is when I come home for a little while each day to shower and change clothes.  Hopefully, in the next couple of days we can get him stabalized and I'll get a chance to catch up.  Last night, I talked to Josh Bowser who ran the camera on the first episodes, and we're planning on getting together here in the next few weeks and trying to film some new episodes of the adventure show.  Also, there are still plans in the works for a special concert taping at the Renaissance Center sometime around the first week of August, when we finalize the date, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

I wanted to tell everybody that since I'm off work tomorrow and Tuesday, I'm finally going to get caught up on answering all the emails that have come in.  If you've sent me a message in the last two weeks, and you haven't gotten a reply back, don't worry, I will get to it.  Part of the reason it takes me so long when I answer emails is that I print each one off and put it in a scrapbook so I can look at all of them whenever I want to.  I really appreciate all the nice things people have said about the tv show, and your messages really mean a lot to me.  Thanks everybody!

Also, I wanted to tell everyone who watches the adventure show that Teddy Helton and I  are planning a special concert to be held at the Renaissance Center in Kingsport.  It will be a chance for me to get to meet and get to talk to everyone in person.  Also, this concert will be taped, and we're planning on using it for a special episode of the tv show.  We haven't got a date finalized, but it will most likely be on a Monday night sometime around the first two weeks in August.  When we have the details worked out, I will post them on the website here, and we will also run an ad for it on the show.

11/07/05  TV Show

Hey everybody,

I've been getting a lot of emails and comments on the website here about the tv show.  I'm glad everybody seems to like it.  I just want to say thanks for all the nice things everyone has said.  This week is supposed to be the last week it will be on the air.   It just came down to a matter of money.  The production company that put it on the air was paying for the airtime and as of yet, they weren't able to get any sponsors for the program.  The good news is that we are working on putting out a dvd that will have all six of the episodes that made it on the air plus a bunch of stuff that didn't make it on tv for one reason or another.  Keep an eye out on the website here, and I'll let everyone know when it becomes available.  If you are able to watch the final episode, it should air this Thursday night at 8:00 if you watch it on the Charter Channel, or at 8:30 if you watch it on any of the other cable systems.  Also, we are working on some other shows that lend themselves better to sponsors, so you might be seeing me on a new show here in the near future.  Again, I'll try to keep you posted.

11/06/05   Online Store

My webmaster called tonight and said that there is a backlog of orders on the online store, and he is working on getting it set up so we can take credit card orders.  I don't know how long that is going to take, but if you have placed an order and are needing it soon, either print it out if you can and mail it to me with a check, or if you're not able to print out the order, just email me and tell me what you want, and we can work something out.  I just wanted everyone who placed orders to know that I haven't forgotten about you, I just wasn't aware that the store wasn't fully functional yet.

I've been busy all weekend building a new banjo.  I've been experimenting with putting a pickup on one to make an electric banjo.  I just finished it, and much to my surprise it works.  I don't know if I'll ever do much with it, but at least I got an electric banjo now if I need one.  Everybody take care, and I'll talk to y'all later.

I'm just sitting here at work, and I thought I'd give an update since it's been over a week since the last one.  Thursday, instead of goin to the pickin' porch, I went to Elk Mills and did a show with E.C. Miller and Goldrush Review.  Everyone seemed to have a great time, and the place where we played was really nice.  They had taken an old tobacco barn and converted it into a lodge with about a dozen rooms.  They had a group of extreme sports people there and they were from all over the country.  Saturday night, I went to the corn maze and the haunted forest, so I didn't get to see if they aired my tv show on Charter.  Hopefully they did, but I havent heard from anyone that saw it.  There is talk about moving the time slot to Thursday nights at 10:30.  When I find out for sure, I'll let everyone know.

Update 10/03/05

I talked to Wes at Elixir Group today, and he said that the time slot for my TV show will be Saturday nights at 10PM.  It will then be rebroadcast 2 or 3 more times that week.  It will be on other stations as well, but I am not sure of the time slots.  Hopefully, they are trying to get it on cable systems in eastern KY, southwest VA, western NC and Knoxville.  When I find out for sure, I wll post the days and times.  Stay tuned!!!

TV Show Update 9/29/05

I was told tonight that my new show "Robby Spencer's Adventures"  will starting airing here locally on the Charter Channel 13 next week.  The time slot they told me is Thursday nights at 9:30.  Honestly, I don't know anything for sure, but just as soon as I do find out, I will post it on here.  I hate to announce something before I know for certain, because as sure as I do it will be wrong.  I try my best not to be wrong about stuff, so I hope you all understand.  If any of you are interested in the show, drop me an email (robby@robbyspencer.com ) and I'll add your address to my list, and let you know by email when I nail down all the details.

I guess if you're reading this, you realize my site is back up.  There are still a few bugs to work out.  Right now, the store is up, but I don't think you can actually buy anything off it right now.  I think we are having to wait on the bank to set up the deal where I can take credit card orders.  Hopefully it will be completely functional before too long.  It's kind of pointless to have an online store, and nobody can buy anything from it.  Also, the guestbook section is working, and you can leave a message, but because there is a problem with the control panel, it won't post automatically.  As you all can tell, I'm not that computer literate, but I have a good group of guys that take care of the techincal problems.  Thanks to the Elixir Group.

Updates to Photo Section 09.28.2005

I've been working hard for the past two days posting pics in the photo section.  On this new site, I have control over the posting of the pictures, so there should be new ones on here all the time.  Hopefully, I'll learn how to use the scanner / paint shop program, and there won't be any white jagged lines on the edges of future pictures.  Special thanks to Chris Rector and Mike Starnes for Supplying most of the pictures.  Be sure to visit Chris's site.  Its:  www.imagesofbluegrass.com.  Thanks guys!
